Dulu....pernahlah aku naik bas

Dedulu kalau pergi KL dari rumah aku mesti naik bas Selangor warna merah no. 143 atau bas mini no. 31

Sekarang ni bas Selangor warna merah dah tak masuk dah, ganti dengan City Liner. dah ada 143 A, 143 B, dan 143 C. Aku dah tak tahu nak naik mana satu.

Sekarang ni bas mini dah tak ada. Bas Intrakota mini yang menggantikannya dulu pun dah tak ada. Ada bus Intrakota panjang no. 31

p/s: teringat zaman pergi sekolah naik bas Selangor. Tambang RM 0.10 dapat tiket kaler2.

Hill seorang student BFA (Acting & Directing ) USM

"Abang Art, aku tak tahu nak pilih nak praktikal kat mana. IB ke STEFANI ke."

Aku tengok Hill atas bawah. Aku sedut rokok (sit kata Acik). Aku hembus ke mukanya.

"Nak pilih tempat praktikal pun susah ke? Pilih je salah satu, dua-dua tak bayar allowancekan."

"Yelah, masalahnya (budak Hill nih, apa yang tak masalah, semuanya masalah) Jihan dapat STEFANI, aku tak tahu nak pilihlah Abang Art."

"Kau boleh tak berpisah sekejap dengan si Jihan tu? Korang nih lesbian eh?"

Hill mencarut pada aku. Dia sebut salah satu tubuh wanita yang erotik dalam nada yang penuh meluat. Aku gelak. Tersedak asap rokok.

"Korang duduk satu rumah juga nantikan? Biarlah tempat praktikal lain-lain, nanti pengalamannya lain-lain, baru boleh kongsi. Ini kalau dah melekat je, mesti tak jadi kerja," kata aku sambil menjeling makhluk elok yang lintas depan ofis.

"Oklah, aku pergi IB lah! (mak ai, cepat pulak buat keputusan!) IB dekat je dengan rumah kitaorang."

"Dekat ke? Rumah korang dekat mana nanti?"

"Dekat Ampang, dekatlah dengan Pudu, IB kan sebelah Pudu!"

Semua orang yang ada gelak guling-guling.

"Yang sebelah Pudu tu, Menara Maybank, Plaza Putra, Kota Raya dan Hotel Katari la bongok!!!!"

Di suatu pagi yang bening

tit tit.....tit tit (bunyi mesej hp nokia 3 sekupang)

Aku buka mata pelan, saper plak mesej pepagi nih. Dekat inbox tulis B Min.... oh, Min ke! Nak apa plak...

B Min : Weh, ada orang kata Brokeback Mountain tuh citer gay, betul ke?
Aku : (dalam hati dan otak yang blur) apa punya outdated mamat nih!
(via sms) Haah!

Aku lelap balik.

MAK ANGLAH! apa lagi ni! aku tengok inbox, B Min. Apa lagi nih, tolonglah jangan ajak aku berbahas pasal gay pepagi ni.

B Min : Dia tayang dekat mana? Kat pacific (shopping mall paling sedih kat Seberang
Perai) tak ada pun?

Aku : (dalam hati) wakakakaka bodohnya mamat nih, tak tahu perkembangan langsung! (via sms) tak tayang kat panggung la, pergilah cari DVD. Kau baru keluar dari hutan mana?

Aku dah tak boleh tidur. Dua tiga kali aku berkalih tidur...

Apa yang tak puas hatinya lagi nih?

B Min : Keluar dari hutan melintang! tapikan citer tuh dapat pencalonan Academy Award, takkan tak tayang kat wayang!

Aku : (dalam hati) Amboih, aku plak kena marah! Dah la bodoh, sombong pulak tuh. Nak kena nih (via sms) Memang le dapat pencalonan tapi citer tuh kena ban kat Malaysia so tak dapat le nak ditayangkan kat sini. Citer tuh kena ban sebab ada scene porno, hisap anu, main belakang, clear giler! Memang tak potong! (ini sekadar perasa tambahan dan tipu daya untuk mengenakan B Min - hahahahhaha gelak jahat) Pergilah beli.

Aku tidur lena selepas itu, tak ada mesej lagi dari B Min, mesti dia pergi cari DVD tuh hehehehehe nasib ko le, saper suh tak ambil tahu hal semasa. Dah la bodoh, sombong pulak tuh!

From My Bed - White Sari with April Spring

White Sari by At Ziafrizani Chek Pa will be performed by April Spring. A foreign woman, widowed to a local Indian guy, ostracized by her in-laws, all alone in a foreign country was sitting beside her daughter who is in a coma. Its 30 minutes before they pull the plug. The daughter is the only family she has and she doesn’t know how to say farewell to a lifeless soul beside her.

This is April first ever stage appearance on stage in Malaysia. She has been very for two years now with her husband and is counting days to go back home to Virginia mid this year. With lots of passion towards fashion design, she walked into TASGreenhall during the audition and land herself part in From My Bed.

It wasn’t that hard to get a character for her, White Sari seems the most appropriate thus challenging. For a very lively, happy go lucky lady in real life, April is going to do some alter-ego on stage. Something that is very not herself.

Oh, by the way, this lady is former Miss Florida and the 2nd runner-up of Miss U.S Globe Pageant!

From My Bed - Asthmatic Years performed by Shalini Sree

Asthmatic Years by At Ziafrizani Chek Pa will be performed by Shalini Sree. This is a story of a girl’s adventure with asthma. Listen to her moan about her miserable life as a child. A life of ‘sireh’ juice and fried river snail and of enjoying every playtime inside the house and being the burden to the family of a small income. Thus, she decided to commit suicide.

This story was among other stories I wrote back in my university days and was picked by the whole solo performance class to be performed at TAS Dataran Merdeka in 2002. The performance received a good review from friends and the press. Since then, I almost forgot that I have written it.

When I looked at Shalini, suddenly I remembered this piece and make her try it. It works. For a very healthy girl with no experience with asthma – even to the extent of how it happens – she does work well with the character.

Shalini is currently a student in Kemayan College doing her A Levels. She has been actively involved in her former school (Convent Butterworth) Drama Club and has represented the school to state and national level drama competition. Perhaps another prospect to Penang theater scene? We wait and see.

From My Bed - Oranges and Lemons by Mark Beau de Silva featuring Saiful Redzuan

Oranges and Lemons by Mark Beau de Silva will be performed by Saiful Redzuan. Whilst fighting with the cockroaches under his bed (with helps from the Jedi masters) and listening to ABBA songs before he sleeps, Eugene remembers his childhood days with his mother and those uncles who come and go every night. But there was this strange uncle who came every night, even though there’s another uncle on his mother’s bed.

Saiful Redzuan is currently a lecturer in fashion design at Equator Academy of Art, Penang. He has been actively involved in Penang Theater scene for one an a half years now. With passion towards art (particularly Fine Art), Saiful has been seen on stage mainly for a Malay theater production. Among his acting work was in Paradoks Bawang/Tanggang/Badang (2005), Maka DijadikanNya (2005), and Death of Zeus (2005).

For his role in Maka Dijadikannya (where he did lots of stunts and manage to broke the sets) during the Penang Theater Manifest 2005, Saiful has won himself the title Best Supporting Actor.

In Oranges and Lemons, he is challenged to be a boy trapped in a man’s body. He’ll stay on the bed throughout because he is afraid of the cockroaches under the bed. You’ll love him!!

Helmi tak kisah

Ini adalah karangan Percubaan Bahasa Inggeris PMR oleh Helmi. Arahan mengkehendaki calon untuk menyambung cerita yang telah disediakan.

One day, hujan turun dengan lebatnya….

Helmi tertidur (menidurkan diri) selepas ayat tersebut. Sekarang Helmi ada di Langkawi. Bekerja di kedai makan. Dia tak sambung ke tingkatan empat. Dia cuma ambil kertas Bahasa Melayu dan Pendidikan Islam semasa PMR 2005. Dia kata, mungkin dia boleh jadi ostat sebab dia ambil kertas Pendidikan Islam. Sampai hari ni dia tak tahu apa dia dapat untuk kedua-dua kertas itu.

From My Bed Monologues- An adaptation from Clit Notes by Holly Hughes and performed by Jonathan Case

Clit Notes is one of four stories that will be featured in The Actors Studio Greenhall latest theater production - From My Bed. Written by Holly Hughes and will be performed by Jonathan Case. It is a story of a beautiful relationship between a man and his girlfriend – only which, in physic, his girlfriend looks more like a man than a woman. Thus the story embarks into questions and debate of self discovery.

Jonathan Case is currently reading his year 12 at the Uplands International School. Being an enthusiast in drama and arts, he now tries his luck to go public after some years performing to his schoolmates. A brilliant actor with lot of talent to be discovered and he probably is the next icon for Penang theater scene.

Past performance include Lady Precious Dream (2000), West Side Story (2001), Ramayana (2002), Annie (2003), Gumshoe (2004), Little Shop of Horror, Death of a Salesman, Rozencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (2005). Jonathan is also the recipient of his school Drama Awards in 2004.
